Foods high in vitamin C
Keen to increase your intake of vitamin C? Many people think that vitamin C is only present in citrus fruits, but it’s actually available in lots of different fruit and vegetables. These include strawberries, broccoli and even brussels sprouts! That said, we will always associate sharp, tangy citrus flavours with a feeling of health and wellbeing.
Vitamin C rich natural juices
Two of our bestselling juices offer a refreshing flavour and a high vitamin C content. If you love energising flavours, try our Organic Sea Buckthorn Juice. It tastes almost like gooseberry but with a tropical twist of pineapple; perfect for adding a new and exciting flavour to your morning smoothie. Or, if you love the classic flavours of orange, grapefruit and lemon, you’ll love our Organic Bergamot Juice. Refreshing and tangy, it has a sophisticated flavour which you can enjoy neat or blend with your drinks. We particularly enjoy mixing it with a little sparkling water. Lovers of lime and soda will be converted instantly! Which whole foods for which vitamins? >>
Do I need a vitamin C supplement?
It’s one of the most popular options, but do you really need a vitamin C supplement? The simple answer is: probably not. A healthy balanced diet with plenty of fruit and vegetables can provide you with all the vitamin C you need.
At Erbology, we always encourage you to source your vitamins and minerals from healthy whole foods rather than vitamin capsules. This is because you get much greater transparency about what you are consuming.
What’s more, whole foods provide a whole range of other valuable nutrients which you don’t get with a capsule! These work together and complement each other, providing a better overall effect on your body.
If you need a helping hand to hit your vitamin C goals, it can be helpful to make a special effort to include a couple of vitamin C rich foods in your diet every day. We love to start the morning with an energising shot of sea buckthorn juice. It provides vitamin C alongside omega-7 and beta-carotene.
