Aloe vera juice
With so many different brands of aloe vera juice on the market, how can you tell if you’re choosing high quality? There are a few tricks of the trade with aloe vera juice which we made use of when sourcing our aloe. We’re particularly interested in the content of a polysaccharide called acemannan. In scientific studies, it has been linked to supporting natural immunity and is thought to be responsible for many of aloe’s health effects. It takes aloe vera plants a while to build up high levels of acemannan polysaccharides. That’s why we only use juice from mature plants which are over three years old.Aloe health benefits >>
The inner leaf
Some aloe vera juices also include ‘whole leaf juice’. This means it includes the inner fillet (gel) along with a substance called latex. This can have quite a potent laxative effect. Our Organic Aloe Vera Juice is made only with the inner leaf and contains around 1600mg acemannan per litre of juice.Aloe health benefits >>
What to do with aloe vera juice
Aloe vera juice has a light, refreshing and mildly bitter flavour. Many people enjoy drinking it on its own, but you can also blend it with other flavours. We’ve created lots of recipes to help you find a way to incorporate aloe juice into your routine. We find that it pairs particularly well with sweet and fruity flavours. For instance, we’ve created a strawberry and aloe smoothie which is perfect for getting going in the morning. Or how about a cocktail made with pomegranate and aloe? This is a lovely option to serve to friends and family as it’s a little bit different!Aloe recipes >>
