Styrian pumpkin seed oil
Our pumpkin seed oil is sourced sustainably from Styria, a state in the south east of Austria. There, pumpkin seed oil is a local delicacy, and the traditional methods of making it are extremely rigorous. We follow the traditional process to make our Organic Pumpkin Seed Oil. It involves grinding the seeds and kneading them together with water and salt before the mixture is gently roasted. There is a dedicated ‘press master’ whose job it is to decide when the mixture is perfectly roasted. Only then can cold-pressing begin. This method, which has been developed over generations, makes sure that the oil tastes delicious. However, it also means the healthy unsaturated fatty acids in the oil remain intact. If you’d like to try a traditional Styrian way of eating pumpkin seed oil, we recommend mixing with a little apple cider vinegar and using as a salad dressing.
