Adaptogenic foods
Natural adaptogens abound in the plant world. In fact, you may already be familiar with some of them! Goji berries, turmeric and liquorice root are all adaptogenic foods.
Adaptogens help to modulate your body’s response to stress. That means that if you’re feeling overwhelmed they can help to calm you. If, on the other hand, you’re feeling lethargic they can give you a much-needed boost.
Coping with stress
In recent years, many people have turned to adaptogenic herbs to help them manage the stresses and strains of daily life, but adaptogens have been around for many thousands of years.
For example, the adaptogenic herbs listed above are inspired by the teachings of Ayurveda. This ancient Indian traditional medicine teaches us not to wait until we feel ill, but to care for our bodies and minds every single day. That’s something we can get on board with!
Adaptogenic supplements or whole foods?
There are many adaptogenic supplements and mixes on the market, but here at Erbology we prefer simple, single-minded products.
Why? Well, we’ve found that many adaptogenic supplements on the market are actually full of ingredients you don’t really need, such as sweeteners or non-functional additions.
Using our whole ingredient powders gives you much greater control over the purity and transparency of the product you use.
We blend our ingredients where it makes sense to do so – for example in our Triphala powder, which is an ancient Ayurvedic herbal blend. However, we’ll never pad our products out with fillers that don’t have health-supporting effects.
We can also guarantee that all our powders are sustainably sourced from small independent organic farms. We only work with farmers who share our values. So, you’ll also know that your purchase has supported the local economy, protected the land and was grown using respectful organic practices.
