Sweet almond oil appeared in Ayurvedic, Ancient Chinese, and Greco-Persian medicine. Today, it is enjoyed in cuisine or applied directly onto the skin and hair for deep nourishment.
Sweet almond oil nurtures with its phytosterols, unsaturated fatty acids, vitamin E and vitamin A. As a result, it can fight free radical damage. Free radicals can cause overall ill health as well as weakening of the collagen of the skin. With its gentle nutty flavour, sweet almond oil is very versatile, perfect for sweet or savoury dishes, salad dressing or baking. Take one tbsp per day.
Additionally, apply a small amount to skin at night to moisturise and soften the skin. Sweet almond oil is quickly absorbed and will not leave a greasy residue. It is used in many skincare products.
Store in a cool, dark place.
First, preheat the oven to 175°C (350°F) and grease and flour a 4×8-inch loaf pan. Then, in a large bowl, stir to combine 2 cups spelt flour, 1 cup coconut sugar, 1 tbsp baking powder, ½ tsp turmeric powder and a pinch of salt. Add in 2 tsp Erbology Organic Sweet Almond Oil, 1 cup apple sauce, 1 tsp lemon zest, 1 tsp apple cider vinegar, 2 cups sweetened almond milk.
Finally, pour the batter into your prepared loaf pan and garnish with 3 sliced dates and 1 tsp crushed almonds. Bake for 20-30 mins and let cool before slicing. Enjoy!
