What is Omega-3 and what does it do?

3 years agoUpdated

Omega-3 fatty acids are found in walnuts, oily fish, algae, and certain seeds, such as chia and hemp. EPA and DHA (two types of Omega-3’s) have been shown to reduce inflammation and may help prevent chronic diseases, such as heart disease (1) and (2). They may also be important for brain health, as well as normal growth and development.
